Correa vs. TeleAmazonas - The Sequel

One man's opinion: I don't have a huge problem with the piece. Mostly factual...but I must mention two things: 1) You can't possibly slant any more biased the NYT quip about Correa trying to hold TeleAmazonas accountable for a law drafted by a "military dictatorship". Let me be clear...to some it was a military dictatorship...to some it wasn't... but at the end of the day, *every single President*...of every single stripe since then...never attacked, amended or repealed this law. Period! But now...the NYT...has decided to slam the integrity of the law. Where was the "anti-law" piece 35 years ago...and since...from the NYT? 2) Folks....the laws exist...just like the FCC regs and the laws that support them exist here in the U.S. In Ecuador, it's not so much about what you report, but how you substantiate it that has come under fire with the Correa Administration. A fine line you say? I wouldn't quibble...very fine line. However, TeleAmazonas knows exactly where that line is and they repeatedly *choose* to cross it. For now, I remain neutral on this issue, while watching it *very* closely...but for the NYT to slant both of these issues so carelessly...well...it points to exactly what Correa has been speaking to...and what my fellow conservatives here in the U.S. have been squawking about in terms of "bias" in the media for decades. Can't have your cake and eat it too. Can't be "bad" when the slant works against us and good when it works for our agenda. Bias in the media, imo, is bad however slanted.
