Galapagos Islands Cruises etc.

Now that we are more settled and over the challenges (for the time being) we hope to travel and explore more of Ecuador. One of the things we would like to do is take a cruise around the Galapagos Islands. Has anyone done this and can you give us some advice? Who are the best people to book through? We live in Cuenca and have our own car and would also like to take shorter trips. Does anyone have any suggestions? Places that shouldn't be missed and best places for accommodation?
