First week in ecuador

So, my first week in Ecuador had it´s ups and downs, literally.
I got here, to quito, thursday night. They made me check a carry-on with my camera in it, which they proceeded to lose, predictably. Still havent gotten it. No biggy though.
Friday I woke up early, an ecuadorian friend picked me up, helped me get a cell phone (which i still can´t figure out how to put more minutes on). Then he dropped me off at the bus station and i took an eight hour bus ride to Guayaquil. The bus ride was nice, scenic. I sat next to a pretty young girl a little older than me and got to practice flirting in spanish. Very dificult.

When i got to guayquil another ecuadorian friend picked me up and we stayed at his friend´s house. Saturday morning we woke up, went to a market, and ate ceviche. Then we wen to Salinas for the day, where I ate something called ¨Cazuela.¨Pretty good. We spent the night back in Guayaquil and sunday afternoon we flew back to Quito. The whole weekend was a blast. I loved everywhere I was. People were friendly.

However, I spent sunday night, monday, and tuesday morning hunched over the toilette. Appearently I ate something bad because my ecuadorian friends were sick too.

Since yesterday morning though, I´ve just been cruising around checking out quito, getting lost, and making a fool of myself trying to speak spanish.

All in all, I´m pretty stoked to be here right now.
