People have asked to hear real life goings on here, so here goes. I get my water from a local water district; I guess in the States we would call it a rural water district. Well, last summer the water district closed its off, so no one was able to pay the bill nor to see a bill. Apparently, there was some internal political problem about misappropriation of funds. Anyway, we have been to numerous reunions (meetings) where we voted on where to pay the bill (2 choices). Well, 7 months later we still have no resolution and have paid a token payment at the various reunions. A week ago there was no water, and still is no water as I write. I have had someone inquire on a daily basis. Yesterday, we were told that they needed a new pump which had been purchased and would be installed and operational by 4pm. Well, this morning still no water, and it turns out that there was a semblance of a riot including punching when they attempted to install the pump. The people that wanted the bills paid at a certain place were not going to allow the pump to be installed until they have their way. I asked why they did not call the police; they apparently did but it did not help. Now we are going to one more reunion to try and get the situation solved. Still no water; we went to the bomberos, and they showed up with a tanker and filled our buckets and our neighbors buckets at the gate. At least, we can flush the toilets, but baths are out now. Flexibility is the name of the game; you gotta love it.
