Tsunami Warning from Chile 8.8 Quake

Good morning from the Pacific Ocean ~ where we are currently under a tsunami warning following a 8.8 earthquake that hit 25 miles from Santiago, Chile.

Warnings have been retired for the Galapagos Archipelego 600 miles west of Ecuador, where residents were warned to move to high ground until the warning was lifted.

Tsunami warnings are in effect over 1/4 of the globe including the South American coast, Japan, New Zealand, and Hawaii. Waves are expected to hit Hawaii at 11:19 am.

More up to the minute information is available on Google, Yahoo and AOL as well as here in Ecuador at http://www.eluniverso.com (Google Tools translate from Spanish to English)

It's just after 9:15 am here and our radio stations have switched back to music from constant new updates.

If I hear anything new I will update this message.
