Moving from NY to Quito

My wife and I live in New York City and are moving to Quito in July 2010. We are taking our household goods free of duty (mostly clothes, small electric appliances, TV and books. No furniture) and a vehicle. We are thinking about not using a container, if possible (we do not know if it is a good idea), since we do not have that many things to take. We can use some boxes and put some of them in the car.
Could anyone help us with the name of a freight expediter and customs agent that could help us bring our things in the most efficient and economical manner.
