It's a man's world

Remember that great slow song by James Brown? Thank goodness it is not the case in North America where women's and men's rights seem to be at parity.

I was just wondering, is Ecuador a patriarchal society or are women getting more empowered? In Mexico, most of the public bank positions are already filled by women ( not sure about management) and they are prominent in the work force. This seems to be a positive step in the empowerment of women. And Chile had a female president for a while. Are women's roles expanding in the Ecuadorean society and work force?
