Worse places to be sick

Haven't been online much this week because I picked up a chest cold. After hacking and coughing for 6 days I decided I needed a visit from the local GP so one of kids dropped a note at his house a few doors up the street. Dr. Rendon was working in town so drove by the house about an hour later, and did a quick looksee (bp, listened to my wheezing chest, checked my eyes, temp, etc.) and wrote out his script. Since one of my drivers was stopping by to pick up guests I asked him to stop by the pharmacy for me (when asked which one Maria my cook said "the least expensie of course!) Few hours later I was tucked in bed with my first round of antibiotics and a cough medication with some power to it -- a hot bowl of "bolitos de verde" soup (chicken soup with dumplings made of beef and ground spice green plantain, veggies, and chunks of meat) and feeling much more optimistic.

Getting a chest cold really is rotten -- but if you hae to have one -- it is not s bad having friends and a support system like I have here in Ecuador. Believe me there are MUCH worse places to be sick!

Hoping all of you are doing well!

Susan
