How effective is this site?

Nancy and I are amazed at how civilly people on this site treat one another. "Flaming", caustic sarcasm, and a lot of nonsensical blather are so often found on other sites, yet here, the members are not only helpful with their shared thoughts, they are also tremendously insightful and encouraging.

We suspect there are a lot of "lurkers" in this group, people with plenty to contribute, but don't post because they worry someone else will write in and shoot you down. This list is not like that. If you have a contribution to make, please do it. All the rest of us can learn from what you share. Knowledge you take for granted may be something we have never even thought about.
