Finding work in Ecuador

Hi to all,

Hmmm i found this site and i thought i would start here to try to find some advice from others in the know.

Well, i am planning to travel to Ecuador next year, maybe March/April time and i am looking to go to Guayaquil as i already have a native friend there.

Currently i am studying Spanish and this is the main reason why i want to live in a Spanish speaking country for a while but also because i love to travel etc. I am working towards an Open Uni degree and hope 1 day that i can go into translation of some kind.

Anyway, i wanted to know if anyone has advice on work possibilities out there, for the meantime, i do not want to go into teaching but i am hoping for something to keep me going and enable me to stay as long as i can in ecuador. I wanted something that does not require experience, something i can just pick up and do and does not require that i am fluent in Spanish because this will obviously take some time. I have thought of Hotels or something like this. I know that it is asking a lot to try to find something that is suitable for my needs, but just wanted to know if anyone has any information on non teaching, no experience work, in Guayaquil o Quito that pay just enough to get by on.

Thanks for listening, all advice is much appreciated.
