Live Bands in Salinas

For those of you in the Salinas area looking for something new to do: "La Casa de Roy" just re-opened about a month ago with live music on weekends. Tonight was a "son-cubano" group (songs in spanish), excellent percussion - we were very impressed. It is a "local" crowd, I was only one of 3 gringos there. Cozy atmosphere - kind of reminded me of a frat house - but comfortable and yet non-intimidating. Cover charge for the guys. Crowd (age wise) was mixed yet controlled and respectful. Jazz, blues, rock are all on the docket for up-coming venues. Located in a wooden house with white picket fence 2 blocks behind the Primax gas station. Check them out next time you are in the area!!
