Expats we don't need.

The forum cut me off a few minitutes ago. I suspect the same is happening now.

In December 1960 I landed in the wilds of Stephenville, Newfoundland. Lacking proper insignia to dress, I asked the airline clerk to unload the plane, so as I could retrieve my baggage and dress properly. At first he was flabergasted, then he looked at me with pity, told me, "Son, it's 23 below out there, the snow is blowing, and you want us to find your bag so you can look pretty!"

I was embarrassed, but I never would be again.

So to ILA who welcomed, me back, Boncur, Maxxgold, and H, yeah, BentParrot is baaaack!

I just spent nearly three weeks in Ecuador - one on the coast, and two in ILA 's Queen city of Cuenca. I like both.

But do we really need as future residents, persons who see criminals over their shoulder at every turn. (They (the criminals) might be your neighbor.) Do we want people who cannot find shrimp or chichen in the US? In rural Kentucky? I can go on and on. People write because they cannot figure out how to get from Quito to Guayaquil or Cuenca. Are they that ignorant about the internet?. Then there was the guy who wanted to drive a motorcycle from the US to Ecuador, and then, either trail his household goods with his motorcycle, or use some other means to get them there.

This moron, was either pulling all our legs, or he never heard of the Darien Gap.

I recall H gave him a detailed explanation, I think, even up to the geographical coordinates of the Gap. Not that it mattered, this pansy was afraid to drive through the "Darien Gap" of LA, HOU, DTW, NYC, EWR, DC, NOLA, or a myriad of other cities.

Fellow expats, and would be expats, let's quit giving these people a forum to play us as fools. I have learned a lot from persons such as yourselves ans several others on this forum. I'd kile to see it quit being used for Comedy Central wannabees.
