For those of us who live in Salinas ~ I just confirmed some news that affects us public-transportation users:

Taxi Ruta is being abolished. Yup. They have one more month, and then that's it. The taxi's are trying to appeal, but Transit Police is enforcing it.

For those of us who use that service it will be truly missed; and therefore costs will go up. No longer can we go to the Paseo Mall (or elsewhere) for 50 cents; we'll now have to pay the full fare of $2.

When you are on a budget ~ like I am ~ and when you travel frequently in town ~ like I do ~ it all adds up.
