Sending dogs to Ecuador

Hi all

We are moving to Ecuador (Vilcabamba) in March 2011 and will be taking our two lovely black labs with us. As we are flying from Vancouver, Canada, the most logical airline is Continental via Houston to Quito. I understand Continental cannot guarantee the dogs will be able to travel on the same flight until 72 hours beforehand. Assuming they are able to travel with us, we will arrive in Quito around 11 pm. This is where I start t get concerned. I understand we need a broker to clear the dogs through customs. First question: Does anyone have experience with this and can recommend a good, reliable broker? It sounds as though the dogs will be stuck in the warehouse overnight. Hopefully we will be allowed to see them and give them some food (I assume/hope they will have had water). We need to get a TAME flight from Quito to Loja (there is one at 4:30 pm) but I don't think it makes sense to book the flight until we have the dogs cleared through customs. ANY advice anyone can pass on would be greatly appreciated. Everything else about our move is no big deal in comparison to the safety or our lovelies.

Thanks
Chris
