I am being pulled into the maw of what passes for health care in the USA by my heart. The blood pump not the emotional center.
Would anyone who has had experience with cardio diagnostics and/or proceedures in Ecuador please share their experience with me?
I am dealing with the cultural expectation here, from everyone, that because it is outside of the USA it must be on a mud floor in a grass hut. I know this isn't the case. Anyone in the USA that goes to a hospital has a good chance of dealing with a foreign doctor/tech.
Teaching medicine to foreigners is a major industry in the USA & Some of them return to their countries.
Costs and backlog (waiting list) for diags like MRI and echo cardiograms and blood flow dopler. Ballpark outline for the invasive proceedures that i don't even want to name.... Its early now for me. Hypertension (130/90) and Afib are all the diags I have obtained.
I have no insurance and I am 64 (65 in April). I'll be in EC in three weeks, for the months of December, January and March.
Thanks
