Travelling from Guayaquil to Cuenca on New Years Eve

Hi there, I'm going to book my flights to Ecuador soon and I've noticed that it is cheaper if I fly into Guayaquil on December 30th. However, I'd like to travel to Cuenca the following day by bus, so I was just wondering whether a normal service is likely to be operating on the 31st?
