Learning Language Quickly

"Re speaking Spanish: I would get onto Gary Scott's site [garyscott.com] and find out when his next Superlearning Spanish course is being held in Ecuador. You'll be speaking passable Spanish in just a week. (I have no vested or financial interest in his service.)"

Gary Scott Writes:

"There is a way to learn Spanish that enhances health and wealth. I call it Super thinking + Spanish and it was created by Merri using three secrets gained from years in language schools followed by 42 years of living around the world.

"There are numerous little known, but scientifically proven ways to enhance the speed, accuracy and efficiency of your decision making process for greater wealth, health and happiness. In just four days you can gain almost amazing learning skills. Plus you become skilled in Spanish as a bonus.

"This is not a gimmick nor a trick. At least three best selling books, Superlearning, the Mozart Effect and Superlearning 2000 have revealed insights about how we can learn and think more powerfully based on systems drawn from the Bulgarian, Dr. Georgi Lozanov.

"In 1980 Superlearning sold over two million copies and showed how the Lozanov learning system blended long-tested sciences of yoga with contemporary physiology and psychology so people could learn faster and better.

"This book exposed this fact and made the system so popular that Dr. Lozanov was allowed to visit the US from Bulgaria to teach this system to just a very few people so they could pass on this vital information on how to learn and think in a more natural, powerful way so we can enjoy life and enhanced memory more.

"Merri was among those few who learned how and is licensed to teach the Lozanov system from this Bulgarian master. She has organized a practical course on how to learn faster and better."

Gary and Merri Scott are right!

The reason that I know so much about "Suggestopedia and Accelerated learning" is because my life-long friend, Dr. Gloria Caliendo, was a protege of, and studied with Georgi Lazanov and his assistent/common law wife, Dr. Evelyn Gateva, in Bulgaria and Italy, since the middle '70s. She stayed in touch until his death about 5 years ago. She created many programs using these techniques, 'teaching teachers how to teach language' at Connecticut St. University as well as implementing programs in other universities in the US, as well as here at the Catolica Univ. in Ecuador. Apparently Merri Scott had studied his technique somewhere as well and this is the basis for their integrated Super Learning Language courses.

Basically, to simplify this 'Lazanov modus operandi'-- the goal is to 'open all the doors in the brain.' For example, do you remember going on vacation once and coming back after only a few weeks and being amazed at how much of a local language you 'picked up' and how many other things you remember so sharply? Your brain was inundated with different sounds, different smells, different emotions, new feelings, no stiffling routine, all senses were 'turned up'--stimulated to the max... Well, there are many things that open the brains' doors. Baroque Music is one. Unconventionality is another. I remember my friend used to give all students different names, they threw beach balls around the 'classroom'--it didn't look like a conventional classroom, as she sat with the students (they put their desks where they wanted), music, art forms and other 'wierd' things, all used. She had an extremely high success rate. Unfortunately, she died a year and a half ago and the Language Departments of many universities still mourn her as one of the last true proteges of this great man, Lazanov, who first started way back during the time of the "Iron curtain." Russia has always been interested and involved in many unconventional and advanced Mind Techniques way before anyone else was, so that is where he 'got started.' If he was alive today, he would be 85 years old.

But his techniques still live on. They have been marketed in various ways. You can google Georgi Lazanov, and here are some sites that explain some of his techniques. There is so much information to be found about him on-line. Everyone, get that classical Baroque music playing in your houses, and turn on some spanish-speaking television, and language tapes.......yes, I know it's alot more than that, but that could be a good start! There are many, many Lazanov-type language courses taught. Of course, I think that just by "being here in this foreign country" alot of the brain's doors are open and just the stimulating experience of being in a new place, the language 'goes in'--that is my personal experience. I just happen to love classical baroque music too! I think I will now listen to more of it. On a personal note, I have always loved flash cards too!
