travelling LAN with pets

I am moving to Salinas in June of this year and just bought my airline tickets this morning. We will be flying LAN airlines and bringing our small yorkie. LAN does not allow pets to fly in the cabin. They have to fly cargo. I seem to remember a post about somebody having trouble with a 24 hour quarentine in this situation, but cannot find the post now. Does anybody have any experience with LAN and pets?
