Recent Home Invasions Santa Elena

Security should be considered if you are staying or going to move to the coast of Ecuador.

Usually crimes involve thefts of homes - however, here are two recent home invasions by bandits with weapons.

Saturday - Ballenita - Assailants came in through the front door and over the walls of the residence - brandishing weapons. The owner of the home was hit in the head resisting the thugs. Most of the visitors at the home were poolside and were robbed.

February 5, 2011, home invasion in Punta Cuatro - assailants were armed -

Most invasions seem to last about 15 minutes.
Bellinita and Punto Blanca seemed to be targeted.

112 crimes reported in the area for January and February with most being thefts.
