3 month trip to cuenca in may

Hi yall,

I have scoured the internet and this forum seems to have alot of people willing to share info. I am making a 3 month trip to Cuenca in May and am looking to find a short term lease or a furnished room to rent. I do not need anything lavish for I plan on spending most of the time getting to know the area. Overall I plan on moving there but I want to visit first. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I will be flying into Quito and according to most expats advice I would fly from Quito to Cuenca. I would also love to meet up with the expat community and make some contacts so that hopefully can avoid common mistakes that one would make.
