the photocopy passport

One of the things I learned to do in my investigative three months in Ecuador was to carry a copy of my passport, (photo page and entry stamp). Makes sense, police want to see the entry date & passport number. the ladrones (thieves) are dissapointed, they cant do anything with the copies.

So today I took an SD flash drive to wally to make a print. The lady running the photo section saw the photo and said..."I can't sell this to you". She produced a WallMart promo listing documents they're equipment was not allowed to print. Yes, a passport was on the list. I said "I understand your position, but". The price was 28c I put 30c on the counter and left.

What is the State Department's position on this? They have got to be happier with fewer PassPorts being stolen.
