Requirements for Real Estate investor visa

Hey everyone,

This is a question for a friend. He had purchased a house several years ago north of Quito then had to sell it. He hasn't been back in a couple of years. He had his real estate investor visa, but would that visa still be active since he has sold the house and hasn't been in Ecuador for quite some time now?
