PAYMENT METHODS~ Tragedy in the Andes

The topic of money transfer has risen recently regarding the tragedy that has transpired in the Andes and how to safely and effectively send donation/monies to different venues.

Several years ago I was one of PayPals greatest critics as I was forced to use the institution or not do business with eBaY/PayPal. (They are one and the same)

Like American Express, PayPal gets their 'share' on both ends from both sellers and buyers. Many vendors, especially restaurants throughout the world refuse American Express as they do not want to pay their fees. Visa and MasterCard do not assess fees in the same fashion.

I have changed my opinion of PayPal. They basically do all of my account balancing on eBaY, keep everything current and are very accountable.

If there is a problem they take care of it. They, like American Express are very heavy handed when it comes to disputes and the service of Am/Ex and PayPal has been invaluable to me over the years, especially with overseas transactions.

PayPal is now much more prevelant in the marketplace and will continue to grow. It is safe, secure and easy to navigate. If you shop online it's a great way to go, or in this case where a charity or foundation accepts donations through PayPal, seamless and convenient.
