The new pension visa duty free

From what date (issue of visa or first entry into Ecuador on visa) is the six month window for duty free importation of personal items measured from? Is this accurate? only six months to do this?

I can't afford a 20 foot container but I might do a large box with a few items. My fleeting chance to do duty free.

any experiences out there.

My visa was issued 5 April 2011 and I will enter Ecuador on that visa 3 July 2011.
