Extending a 12-IX Visa

Hello Everyone

Anyone knows how to go about extending a tourist visa beyond the 180 days allowed by a 12-IX visa?

My 12-IX expires in a month and I am now worried that the Pensioners' Visa that I applied for 4 months ago may not come thru in time.

As you may know, things are moving very slowly at the Directorio of Extranjeria (where visas are handled) due to a number of factors that include: changes in their director, being declared in a state of crisis, moving to a new location and facing new (yet to be implemented) regulations.
