Tourist Visa question

Hi everyone,
I have another question. My family and I are planning on moving to Salinas. We all have social security disability, so we were planning on apply for a pensioners visa. However we thought it would be better to get a lawyer in Ecuador and have him/her help us get are permanent visa. So we were just going to use the 90 tourist visa in the mean time. However I am not a little concerned about that. I read a post from another person who had applied for the 6 month tourist visa and he's already been waiting for 4 months and his visa will run out in 2 and he might not get it until later. What should I do? Thanks.
