New Beach & Malecon Ordinances

The municipality is working on (draft version 1) of ordinances to regulate beach and malecon use. This will allow cantonal, national and naval police to enforce local regulations which currently don't exist. For example, prohibiting sale of hard liquor on the beach, requiring vendors to clean areas within which their sales will be limited, assuring zones free of pre-set up tents and umbrellas. Total number of vendors will be limited, all will have to have permits, and food sales will require health inspections. Nice news is they are, in fact, accepting input. All in anticipation of planned renovations. This will be followed by upgraded traffic management ordinances. Ed & Jenny
