Hello All,
Here's the latest from Salinas:
1. We just completed the design of a school structure in Anconcito that should provide greater shelter, enhance the school sound system, improve lighting and provide greater safety features. As an aside we provided the school director with information on how to secure low cost (perhaps free) laptops for the children via a non profit foundation.
2. A design review for a Police Station in Anconcito was completed and delivered at the same time. Our comments include but are not limited to provisions for interoperable communications with the nearest fire and ambulance units. There were structural and electrical recommendations as well.
3. We are now waiting for a response to our 90% review comments on the specifications to the environmental remediation of the San Lorenzo beach. A reply is expected this week. We believe that the potential savings may exceed $1M.
4. A response to the conceptual design for the Salinas Malecon is expected this week as well.
5. We have, at the request of an Assembly member, completed a draft (based on a past completed program) project to unify first responder command/communications in the Province.
What's nice is that there are so many other expats that give their time, energy and knowledge.
