TOILET TRAINING

I know this is not a subject for civil discussion, but for those thinking about moving to Ecuador or Costa Rica, there is a problem with toilet paper. YOU CANNOT FLUSH IT. It will clog the pipes, so you are expected to carefully fold it and place it in a waste container found next to all toilets. Once you go to school on how to fold the paper after using it, you're home free.

I currently live in Florida and several years ago my wife asked me about a bidet. We did not have room for one, but I discovered a bidet seat. After a little research, I bought and installed one and we love it. It provides a gently instantly warm stream of water and warm air to dry you. We now only use toilet paper in the guest bathroom.

I am curious is if any expats have any experience using them. They are a little pricey; $400-to about $800, but in my view well worth the investment. Here is the website of the company who produced the one I bought: http://www.biolifetechnologies.com/
