My move to Ecuador: A Triolgy

When I became pregnant with my daughter a little over a year ago, my husband and I decided that we wanted to move out of the United States. We had many reasons, none more important than the next. After much research, we decided on Ecuador. One of my requirements was to live on the beach, as I wanted beautiful weather and a beautiful view. Salinas seemed the best option. We did not want bugs, high humidity, and wanted to be able to shop locally. So we decided to move a month after baby was born. We bought the airline tickets, sold our business, home, and personal belongings.

We made this decision without ever setting foot in the country and speaking very little spanish. Many people will warn against this sort of action, but it worked for us. I think it is because we really felt in our heart of hearts that this was the right decision for us.

The moral of this post: If you feel in your heart and soul that it is the right move for you, AND you have the means, take the plunge. I have so far never been happier!

Part II of my trilogy to come soon :)
