REDUCED AIRFARE FOR SENIORS

The Ecuadorian Constitution states that senior citizens (65) and older are entitled to 50% off on a variety of expenses including airline tickets. I just spent about 20 minutes with American Airlines who explained it to me. In order to get the senior discount, the flight must originate in Ecuador and the tickets must be purchased in Ecuador. I don't know about LAN, trying to get anything out of them like trying to call the Pope.
But it occurs to me that if you have friends or relatives in Ecuador, they could purchase the tickets and FEDEX them to you.
