Residency visa application

Hi, I have given in in Guayaquil my papers to apply for the investor visa. I was told I'd get a response in a week. It's been 2 and a half weeks now. I was also told taht at the time of registering electronically on the system on Feb 14 that the counting of the days of my current 6 month visa was 'frozen/congelado' from that day. ie The counting of the days on the 6 month visa has stopped due to the visa registration. Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone been indicated a similar thing? I do not trust what people say to me (even if it comes from an official's mouth), especislly with these kinds of issues. I do not want to be in a 'situacion iregular' . Many thanks and have a great day.
