Homeland Security will be conducting interviews Immediatley for Quito Ecuador..... You must have a minimum GS-13 rating ... Your duties will be as follows::: QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

•handling criminal investigations cases involving substantial difficulty where circumstantial evidence is used or indirect perpetrators are pursued;
•complications because the subjects were prominent figures or operated their illegal activities under cover of legal ones;
•follow up on the entire chain of separate investigative matters stemming from original assignments; and a web of multi-jurisdictional problems.....

DUTIES:

The selectee serves as an ICE Representative for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) at an overseas embassy or consulate applying the full range of investigative knowledge, skills and abilities to conduct a variety of complex, difficult, and sensitive criminal investigations concerning violations of immigration, customs, and related laws, and real estate rules and regulations in a designated host country. The ICE Representative is also responsible for the production and dissemination of intelligence concerning other criminal activities including the trafficking or movement of merchandise, monetary instruments, weapons of mass destruction and other devices as they relate to terrorist activity.

SPECIAL NOTES: 1. This is a limited term assignment. Initial tour for this position is three (3) years as designated by the Department of State, not to exceed 5 years. This location is entitled to cost of living allowance (COLA) and hardship differential pay. The salary range listed is the base salary rate. 2. This assignment may be terminated or extended at any time depending on the needs of the agency. Upon completion of the assignment, the selectee will return to the United States to a similar position and grade. You may also apply for vacant positions with other Federal agencies either overseas or in the United States. 3. In accordance with ICE policy, ICE personnel, except Mission Support Specialists, can be assigned overseas for a maximum of five years at one time and a maximum of ten total years in foreign assignments. 4. Selectee must successfully complete all phases of the pre-deployment process which include: issuance of passport and/or visa (if applicable), medical clearance, mandatory pre-departure training if applicable, and security overseas training.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

Law Enforcement Retirement: This position meets the eligibility criteria for law enforcement retirement under both the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) and the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). Employees covered by either retirement system who reach age 50 or over with at least twenty years of service as a law enforcement officer are qualified for law enforcement retirement. In addition, employees covered by FERS (all new hires to the Federal government) of any age with at least 25 years of service as law enforcement officers are qualified for law enforcement retirement. Finally, employees who reach age 57 with at least twenty years of service as a law enforcement officer are subject to mandatory retirement.
