The 20ft container and our move....

Well, my wife and I are planning to retire in Ecuador by the end of September. Our house is going on the market, and I will be shipping a 20 ft container to Guayaquil. We don't have any visas yet, and are planning to do that once we get to Cuenca, which will be our first destination. Since it may take a couple of months to get our visa (Canadian passports), I want to have the container stored in the Seattle area where we live at present. So I called a couple of international movers, and one of them told me I could not do that because the company that owns the containers wants to turn them as often as possible and does not want them kept in storage. So, I can purchase a used one here for about $2500. So he said the freight from Seatlle to GYE is about $2800. To load the 20' container they would charge me $2500 and storage would be about $90 per month. So I am at $7800 (plus rental storage) getting my tin can from Seattle to GYE, and I would be the owner of the container and may get some money back if I sell it over there....
1..My question is what would it cost me to ship it from GYE to Cuenca?
2.. Has anyone taken this route before?
3.. Any suggestions?
