The Gay & Lesbian Scene in Quito

Hundreds of Lesbians come out after 10 PM in Quito.... Pass the airport going South.. Go under the bridge it turns into Amazonas street.. At the red light there is a 24 hour Tropi Burger on that corner.. Hang a left at that light.. go down a 1 /2 mile .. There is a popular 5 lane circle intersection... That is the place were only lesbians hang out and pick up each other.. The cops get there cut for protection services and look the other way from 10 PM.. to 4 AM.. Thursday thru Saturday... I know what your thinking..... whats a heterosexual like me
doing there at that time of the night... My favorite Italian Pizzeria is on that corner on the way home from the airport... OOps wrong way.. I live North the other way... Gee!! Wally were'nt you a little hard on the Beaver...BOTTM LINE !!!! Wake up people you can't stop them from coming... San Francisco is marketing gay friendly Quito Ecuador (Big Time)... If your Gay stay away from Cuenca its not ready for Brokeback Mountain cowboys ... Ouch!!!! that hurts just thinking about it....

Although homosexuals are guaranteed protections and rights under the Ecuadorean constitution, attitudes toward the gay and lesbian community here still lag behind those of North America and Europe, principally owing to Ecuador's being a staunchly Catholic county. As a result, gay and lesbian nightlife is not particularly well publicized, although it's by no means nonexistent. Quito has a few homosexual hot spots.
