Young American was buried after dying from ayahuasca healer

There are a number of hostals in lodges on the coast, in the mountains and in the oriente (amazon) that offer to do ayahuasca ceremonies for a fee.

Ayahuasca is a powerful hallucinogen created as a tea from certain plants indigenous to the Amazon.

The following occurred not in Ecuador - but a sad story of a young American that went to Peru - involved with a shaman - and using - ayahuasca - through a hostal - according to the report - he overdosed - the hostal was afraid of the publicity ---- and buried him in a field.:

(AP). A Peruvian shaman confessed to burying the body of a young American of 18 years after he died in a session ritual consumption of a powerful hallucinogen from the jungle, police said Wednesday.

José Manuel Pineda (58), who called himself Master Mancoluto and ran a retreat lodge in the city of Puerto Maldonado in the Madre de Dios region, told police that exceeded the amount of ayahuasca administered to Kyle Nolan and he died, said coach Ramiro Ramirez.
