NEW LAW re: CEDUAL

This new rule came into effect July 24th. So you could have your Residency Visas but now will have to adhere to this new law in order to get your Cedula.

It now requires that you need to get your Birth Cert. apostatized by your birth country..

Sounds easy, but what if your from France and your wife is from Italy
You will have to do a lot of work to comply with this absolutely insane, stupid and unexplainable new law to obtain which is essentially an ID card similar to the green or pink card back in the USA.
You will have to work with your
embassies many times and do not use emails as they will not respond to emails.

Meeting with Ministry Officials on this new law here in Ecuador has been AWOFT!
( military slang, a Wast of Freaking Time)

The Ministry Officials have determined there is no way they will relax this new rule nor can they explain the necessity of it.

They cannot understand that regardless where you are from, in order to get a PASSPORT one needs to produce your BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

Just when we thought we could breathe easier with a new fast track system to go through the Visa maze of old we get this. I guess when the Good Lord said BRAINS, these people heard TRAINS and missed theirs.

This is another sign of just how difficult, dangerous and asinine it is to live her.

Those who make these laws are pushing this country back instead of forward.

Ahhhhhhhhh, Ecuador we love ya!
