visa different way

Hello all ;

I found quite a few information on line , but somehow none of them
cuts really well to my situation .

Are two of us , but not married .
We have income 1. my alimony, about $1500
and my boyfriend has
2 . his condo rented, about the same amount of money .

I am 61, he is younger a few good years .

Can we get residential visas under this condition ?
Visas , which would lead surely to permanent status ?
We do not plan buy any real estate now , we do not want to sale now what we have in US .

This is very burning question for me ,because few years ago we already decided to move to Mexico, we did , and now new emigration law and visa requirements kicks us practically out, or makes
legalization of staying prohibitive expensive and troublesome .

I would appreciate an answer very, very much .

I posted what above , on another forum two days ago, and nothing , many looked only .

My question , really can be summarized to ;

Can one obtain the visa ,
visa leading to permanent residency, having an income sufficient,
but not from pension, ss etc, and having the monthly deposit to American bank
and printed statement, as only proof of it .
It is long way to Ecuador, and we have small motor home, and the car , and two dogs .
We would take this challenge, but we really need to know do we have good realistic chance to settle down for good and legally in Ecuador .
