Insulin in Ecuador.

We are just a little more than a month away from our trip to Ecuador to check it out to possibly move there. Our 12 year old daughter has just been diagnosed with type I diabetes. I'm guessing this won't be covered by Ecuadorian health care because it will be considered a pre-existing condition. I can't find a website that tells me how much insulin might cost there. I'm hoping it's not too expensive and maybe I can afford to buy it without help from insurance.
Also I've been reading about a new product not yet approved in the USA that uses an inhaler.
If anyone has any first hand knowledge of any of this, please chime in.
