Just got back from Banos and stayed on top of the mountain at the 5 star hotel called Runtin about 8 miles from the Volcano over looking the city... When arrived at 7 AM on the 19th.. the Volcano was shooting out cannon shots that was echoing off each hillside like it was the civil war again.. All the mothers were walking children to school like it was a normal day and not one had any concerns of the volcano... We went to our hotel on top of the mountain and we saw many Japanese thrill seekers that were staying on top with us...The Hotel manager said the volcano will settle down by mid afternoon and the lava will start to go down half way and the bubblles will be a little larger and make a larger sound when they pop... Around 3 Pm it sounded like a T-REX Dinosaur was stepping in front of us every 20 to thirty minutes making the ground shake like after shocks of an earthquake, and the windows of the hotel I thought were going to come off the Frames with the shaking going on.. It was all over at about 3 AM and would I do it again .. NO WAY... Call me a Wussy.. I am back at my place at the middle of the world in Quito and I now there are hundreds of residents celebrating the end of the world on top of the mountain behind me.. Its 9:09 and someone said the planets are going to be in a straight line at midnight at the equator.. Is that true? .. [email protected]
