Helping one of our own; please read

Dear Friends,

As some of you know, a long time poster and contributor to our forum, is in need of a life saving kidney transplant. By the grace of God, a willing donor has been located and that donor, has passed all of the necessary screening procedures that will allow him to donate a kidney to help our firend survive. The transplant surgery is scheduled for March 21 at the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham. Our friend is obviously nervous, but looks forward to the surgery giving him additional years of life.

We have located a generous benefactor that has agreed to pay for all of the donor’s expenses during his recovery from the transplant surgery and poster's own insurance will cover the medical costs of that procedure. What isn't covered are incidental costs for the time after that surgery. Obviously, our friend is in no position to work to earn a living and his wife, has severe medical problems of her own that leave her disabled as well.

All his life, until deadly kidney disease struck our friend has worked hard and been a productive member of society, but now he is on fixed social security retirement and needs our help. Nobody can tell the story better than he himself and I am hoping you will go to the website he has created for this purpose. I'm sure you know how hard it is for proud hard working people to ask for this kind of financial assistance, but this is no time for pride. I would also ask that you forward this message to anyone you know that has a generous, giving heart, especially members of our expatriate community.

Once this business is taken care of, he and his wife will finally be able to complete their move to live in Ecuador.
