At about 18:00 on Saturday, technicians at the Guadalupe Observatory Geophysical Institute (IG) alerted the sharp increase of the activity of the Tungurahua volcano

Therefore, the Emerging Operations Committee (COE) Banos met in the evening to take action.

Banos mayor and president of COE, José Luis Freire, reported that among the main resolutions were closing the hot springs resort of El Salado, between last night and today 07:00. "This is more like a preventive measure in any situation," he said.

It also restricted the passage via Aves (Banos)-Penipe-Riobamba, where residents may only transit the sector that will be placed by the leaders of the areas along the road, where it remains Police to meet cantonal COE resolution.

It also prohibits the presence of tourists and people who want to see the eruption of the volcano Tungurahua, in places where there is a history in the past where pyroclastic flows down (hot ash clouds), on La Pampa and nearby.

Finally the mayor said that despite the shift technique in Guadalupe observatory, Patricia Mothes said that although before midnight yesterday's activity was reduced by about 80% compared to the afternoon, the COE cantonal remains alert to any change in the volcano.
