Nay Sayers

I too have lived in many places around the world, some I never visited, and some I visited and stayed for a few years. I have been to ecuador and liked it alot, Is it like the U,S.A , thank God no, can I live there, Of course I can, why, because I do not expect it to be anything like the U,S.A nor do I want it too, I want and love the culture, I like the fresh air, Ilike the stress free life of going to the markets and buying fresh foods. Do i want Starbucks (DumB Question) hell no, I dont like them here why would I want it there, I love coffee yes, but Ecuadors coffee is just fine, as is there meats as I am a steak eater, there fish and chicken is also very good, So remember people its nothing against you or anyone who say on this site stay home, its all rubbish, If you can live without certain things and dont mind manana, or the occasional lights going out or no water for several hours here and there and can deal with people knowing your a gringo and some will try to take advantage of you , but if your smart and diligent who cares, go on about your business and visit first before you take the plunge, then I recommend it, I have been there a few times , I am planning on moving there ,soon but not yet , why because I am not sure where I want to live there, I love Cuenca, I love Salinas, I like Ibarra, I even like Manta. so there is alot to go too see and stay for a longer period I went for a few eeks in each of them but its not enough I need more time to decide, I favor the beach but Cuenca is really nice, and beautiful, so it is a toss up. but at least I have some knowledge of the place and where I want to go I know a few people there and it helps. good luck too all of you whom make the plunge to Ecuador, and remember your in there Country, treat them with respect and dont ask for things that they dont have that your used to getting in the U,S,A, you will find they have something similiar and it does quite nicely... god bless you all
