why would anyone visit Ecuador?

Experience1: being run down while in a pedestrian crossing
Experience 2: being run down while in a pedestrian crossing
Experience 3: being run down while in a pedestrian crossing
Exlerience 4: constantly having to inhale dirty diesel fumes - an every day and night experience
Experience 5: being robbed by cashiers, taxis, and anyone else you have to pay
Experience 6: having to return 7 times over 3 weeks to the post office (Correos) to retrieve a package of hiking/climbing quipment essential for the 4 week holiday I had come from South Africa to experience. Post office and customs staff constantly telling me I should leave the package for customs!! Finally, after telling me I would receive the package, charging me a considerable penalty, and then the next day, after the typical 3 hour wait, giving me a dirty plastic bag, containing about one quarter of my equipment.
Four weeks ruined. Why would anyone want to experience this. There is a societal malfunction here.
