How many languages do you Speak?

This is coming up in another thread, but it is a good question:

SInce we are all communicating here, we can assume we all speak English on some level -- some as their first language but quite a few here as their second.

Those of us who are living here in Ecuador are learning Spanish -- some faster than others. Some are choosing not to.

ANd some of us have other languages we speak, more or less.

Let's find out more, and perhaps see if there is a pattern -- about ease of learning additional languages:

Me first because I started this thread:

English is my first language

I speak a smattering of Yiddish, a teensy bit of Hebrew, a smattering of French and even less German...

I was trained to sing in French, German, Italian so I can read and understand and speak those languages to a small extent. That was choral training and I was bumped up to solos -- did some semi professional work later in life and ...you can occasionally find me jamming with a certain lady with a pink guitar in Salinas :) doing 60's rock

I speak enough Spanish now to get around after living here 6 1/2 years.

I studied Spanish for 2 years in HS and 2 years of French in college.
