What did you do with the tons of paperwork you couldn't bring with you?

Here in the USA we are inclined to acquire and keep lots of paperwork related to our lives. The most important one is "Income Tax Returns". But, there is other paperwork that accumulates. For example I have 4 large plastic tubs full of such paperwork.

I have to go through all that stuff before leaving....and won't be bringing most of it along as stuff is just way too expensive to mail or ship.

I am thinking I will make a bonfire and burn it all. It seems to risky to just dump it all in a dumpster. It might be found by dumpster divers here to hijack one's identity.

What did you all do with all your paper trash before coming on down there as a minimalist?
