Marriage is Complicated

Wow, I anticipated that it would be a bit of a challenge to marry a foreigner, but it is a little more complicated than I anticipated. For a couple reasons:

I can't get a human person to answer my questions on the phone. They just tell me to email them and then the email has a forward to the embassy website. Before I go to Quito, maybe some kind people will answer some questions for me.

I am from North Carolina, back in Ecuador to live with mi amor. He and I plan to marry as soon as we can here in Ecuador. I am wondering if I need to get a visa before the marriage....because it will only have been 75 days that I've been here if we can get the paperwork to get married in March. I know I will get another Visa after marriage so do I need to go through the process before too?

Also, I forgot my birth certificate in the U.S........UGH. Do I get someone to mail it? (Sketch and takes a long time) or is there a way around this?

I have a year left of school and we would ideally go to the U.S. together within a year or so so that I can finish and we'd have a reception with my family for our wedding, then we'd move back here possibly. WIll it be hard to get him into the U.S. with me once we are married? We just don't want to be apart but I HAVE to go back to finish school. Is there a possibility that it would be easier to get him a fiance visa and get married in the U.S.?

Lastly.....am I crazy to think we are going to be able to get married next month if we haven't gotten the paperwork together yet??

Sarcastic answers not appreciated.....but there's always one of you
