Cuenca Snowbird Home?

My wife and I have been staying in Cuenca for a month now, in a nice apartment in Zona Rosa. We live on a ranch in Hawaii, but are seriously considering spending six months a year in/near Cuenca. We need to return to Hawaii next month, but were wondering if there are any Snowbirds out there who spend winters here and have furnished homes to rent during the summer? Maybe a place in one of the Cuenca "retirement communities"?
