Thank you

Greetings all ??
My husband and I have been considering leaving Cape Town for years (since I was left bleeding in labor in a waiting room at hospital and our baby died during the five hour wait)

Last year we started collecting our paperwork from SA gov and its been laborious and painful and still we miss two unabridged birth certificates (gov outlawed our old gov issued birth certificates without notifying anyone) so we wait.

We have looked at many places, irish descendancy (hubby and I both have irish grandmothers from when the British army resettled some personnel in CT) and i have an uncle in Canada but we kept looking at the fact that we are mixed "yellow" khoe/euro people and we lead a life where we tend to gravitate towards nature, the ocean, hikes up mountains, etc, and we wanted our remaining kids to maintain similar values and also not enter a western world that is complaining about immigrants.

Ecuador seems like paradise.

We have made contact with an attorney who we will contract to aide us. We think,as a family, perhaps the property investment route may make more sense as it would then save us rental costing?

Currently, in SA,

Our healthcare is rated -150 im the world currently. Our schooling now sits at 175 and we literally removed our kids and homeschool them between the NY common core and Cambridge systems so they should be able to fit in global standards.... Our crime is at number 4 globally. The new South Africa mandela marketed to the world has only benefitted abantu tribes (free amenities, free school, subsidised tertiary education, jobs held exclusively for black economic empowerment) and the rest of us, khoe indigenous or not, have to pay taxes on income, literally every cent, pay taxes on every purchase, and pay levies for using roads via tolls and fuel costing, electricity levies and even now a water levy (that has raked in over 300 million ZAR since Dec but our water use is restricted due to drought and our dam has 20% water left to last till June...gov has not attempted desalination, subsidizing our spring water that is still diverted for commercial use exclusively,or done anything constructive to ease the water shortages that's been coming on for years now) so we are definitely sure we need to leave for a better life for our kids. Our rainbow nation is a hell-hole

We literally live locked up in our homes, using wet wipes to clean ourselves, herbs to heal ourselves, and buying spring water from companies paying gov pennies to take our natural resources...my president, i didn't vote for him, he has appointed enough friends in cabinet to ensure his party outvotes the opposition every time. he has now basically doubled taxes for an already struggling working class to support exorbitant government spending and to subsidize his tribal allies.

We need to leave. It's crazy here.

Please help?

Where are the safer neighbourhoods to look at purchasing in Ecuador?

We have ZAR so it doesn't have the same weight at USD and condos would be out of the question. But we do have a large premises in CT and some assets we will sell so we have a decent base to resettle with.

Also, what is the job market like? My husband is a collision repair combo tech. I have been a sailing instructor and NGO manager. If we can't settle into the job market we will gladly enter entrepreneurial endeavour.

Any leads will be greatly appreciated
