Domestic Help - Quito

I am searching for a way to move to Quito, Ecuador from Western Colorado USA, but I need some help and guidance, so, I would like to tell you of my plan, so far, my needs and ask for your help or referral.

I am a 69 year old artist and poet, reaired architect/master builder. I have been married to the same woman for 48 years, produced two sons and now have two granddaughters. This has all gone very well and I hope they will visit me or move to Ecuador, eventually.

I have been disabled for 15 years. I still need a wheelchair, so access is an important consideration, and I’m currently learning to use my body, all over again, so, I will need a suitable personal assistant. Yet, I see these as as situations that must be dealt with on the way to living life in a new and fascinating way. I will have to become fluent in Spanish, then learn Quetua. I will have to learn to ride a horse again. And, I will have to experience the local plant based medicines, because, I want to explore the unknown in this new phase of life.

First, I will need a place to live and although it probably won’t suit me for more than a month, I am considering one of the new high rise apartments that I’ve found through AirBnB on the North
Side of Quito - where everything is convenient and already furnished. The big thing though is finding the suitable personal assistant. I prefer a male, but it could be a woman - but It is important that this person speak both Spanish and English and can cook. Eventually, I hope to have a painting studio with two apprentices, so an interest in painting (fine art) helps.

I’m sure things will turn out differently. That’s OK. But, that’s my plan. It’s possible. If you can help, send a reply.
